About BarbicanPower
BarbicanPower is an independent, Manchester-based electricity supplier serving business customers across Great Britain. We focus on clear contracts, dependable service, and sustainably priced power. We also support customers’ decarbonisation plans through renewable supply options and practical, data-led energy insight.
The role
We are hiring a Business Development Manager to grow our industrial and commercial customer base. You will own the end-to-end sales cycle for larger, energy-aware organisations, working closely with our commercial, operations, and risk teams to shape offers that win and deliver.
This role suits someone who is commercially sharp, comfortable with complex stakeholders, and confident selling structured energy products in a regulated market.
Key responsibilities
Build and convert a targeted pipeline of mid-market and large I&C prospects across Great Britain.
Lead the sales process from first contact through to contract signature, including tenders and negotiated deals.
Develop clear, customer-ready value propositions covering fixed, flexible, and renewable supply options.
Work with internal teams to align pricing, contract terms, credit requirements, and onboarding readiness.
Maintain accurate CRM discipline, including pipeline hygiene, forecasting, and conversion analysis.
Track market and policy developments and translate them into practical customer conversations.
Contribute to refining our go-to-market approach and sales playbooks as we scale.
What we are looking for
Demonstrable experience selling B2B energy supply, or adjacent infrastructure or commodity products, in Great Britain.
Strong commercial judgement, with the ability to structure deals that balance customer outcomes and margin discipline.
Confident communicator, able to present clearly to operational, finance, and board-level stakeholders.
Comfortable working with data and using it to prioritise activity and improve conversion.
Self-directed and accountable, with a collaborative approach and a focus on delivery.
Benefits
Competitive base salary plus commission.
25 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
Hybrid working with flexible office days.
Pension scheme.
Family-friendly policies.
