About BarbicanPower

BarbicanPower is an independent, Manchester-based electricity supplier serving business customers across Great Britain. We focus on clear contracts, dependable service, and sustainably priced power. We work closely with customers and advisers to deliver strong retention, clean renewals, and practical support throughout the contract term.

The role

Our key accounts require high-quality account management, structured renewals, and clear decision making on risk and pricing. This role protects long-term revenue, supports customer outcomes, and helps us scale in a controlled way.

You will own a portfolio of strategic accounts and be accountable for retention, margin discipline, and service delivery, working closely with internal teams across commercial, operations, and risk.

You will be the primary contact for a portfolio of high value business customers. You will manage renewals end to end, lead tender activity, and identify growth opportunities aligned to customer needs and our product capabilities.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage and renew a portfolio of strategic accounts, including customers with complex requirements and multi-site portfolios.

  • Run renewal and tender processes from enquiry through to contract signature, keeping stakeholders aligned and timelines controlled.

  • Shape pricing and deal structures in line with customer objectives, governance, and risk appetite, working closely with internal pricing and risk stakeholders.

  • Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities, including contract structure changes, renewable supply options, and service enhancements.

  • Monitor account performance and proactively manage issues that could affect retention, service outcomes, or margin.

  • Coordinate internal teams to ensure smooth delivery across onboarding, billing, and ongoing service, with clear escalation routes.

  • Maintain accurate CRM records, pipeline visibility for renewals, and disciplined forecasting.

  • Stay current on market and policy changes that affect customer costs and contract strategy, and communicate those impacts clearly.

What we are looking for

  • Strong relationship management skills, credible with senior stakeholders and comfortable leading commercial conversations.

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and complex customer requirements.

  • Clear written and verbal communication, able to translate energy market topics into practical customer decisions.

  • Customer focused, with a delivery mindset and a bias to resolve issues quickly and professionally.

  • Proven experience in key account management, renewals, and commercial negotiation in the GB business energy market.

  • Experience with flexible and structured supply products and the operational requirements that sit behind them.

  • Track record of retaining and growing accounts through disciplined process and strong stakeholder management.

Benefits

  • Competitive base salary plus commission.

  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays.

  • Hybrid working with flexible office days.

  • Pension scheme.

  • Family-friendly policies.

  • Comfortable working with data and using it to prioritise activity and improve conversion.

  • Self-directed and accountable, with a collaborative approach and a focus on delivery.
